PT » "Nikouala é um projecto diferente. Diferente porque é um projecto para se ouvido, visto e sentido em cima do palco, na tela; não com os Nikouala, mas com as personagens às quais é suposto o duo dar cor, dar o cenário para posar, a tela onde se criam os ambientes, emergem tensões e se vivem todas as emoções.
Projecto vocacionado para a criação de bandas sonoras para teatro e cinema – ainda que se dediquem igualmente à perfomance ao vivo e às artes plásticas, a dupla Nikouala (José Arantes e Filipe Miranda) fá-lo com originalidade, daquela que desperta a curiosidade, tal a subtileza da produção, nua de imagens, num palco distante, sustentado apenas pela imaginação – que trabalheira, dirão alguns. Os sons, esses, são diferentes, pois pertencem a fitas diferentes – assim parece, ou talvez não; da transformação elevada de um excelente “Aggiornamento”, ao estranho embalo infantil de “Operation: you think you can change…”, passando pelo curto mas denso e incisivo “2.0.0.7.” – o preferido – e terminando no agitado e até roqueiro “Belikhose”; tudo soa a experiência… mais experiências." - Rui Dinis
